Every year, the Blueprint community get together for the CrossFit Open, and we’d love for
you to join us! Here we answer all of your questions about the Open.
What is the Open?
The CrossFit Open is a global online competition performed in your affiliate. It’s made up of
3 workouts, spread across 3 weeks (1 per week). Each workout is released on Thursday
evening (UK time) and scores need to be submitted by the following Monday evening. This
year it will run from Feb 27th- March 17th 2025.
Who is the Open for?
It’s accessible to everyone – there are Foundations, Scaled, and Rx versions of each
workout so all levels can participate. These will include similar scaling options to the ones
you get in classes here at Blueprint. When doing the workout, you will be allocated a judge
to make sure you complete all of the reps to the set standards and provide you with a score.
Why should you take part in the Open?
Some people participate in the Open to advance to the later stages of competition that lead
to the CrossFit Games, but this is only a small percentage – most Open participants do it to
challenge themselves, test their fitness and to have fun working out with their community. It’s
a really exciting annual occasion for everyone at Blueprint and we’d love to see as many of
you there as possible!
When you complete all three Open workouts, you’ll be able to see where you rank against
hundreds of thousands of people on a worldwide leaderboard. This becomes a useful
benchmark for measuring your progress over the years.
What do I need to do to get involved?
