The 'WHY' behind CrossFit Kids
A Way to Improve Health
– Scientific Studies show us as years go by, children lead a more and more sedentary lifestyle. This coupled with fewer opportunities to be active within the school day has contributed to increases in the number of children opting out of Sports and leading a normal active lifestyle.
– CrossFit Kids is a program that provides children with a portion of their weekly required exercise, improves muscular fitness, gives them opportunities to experience success all while keeping lessons fun and engaging.
Promotes Learning and Retention
– CrossFit Kids classes provide opportunities to learn perseverance and hard work, personal responsibility, accepting feedback, working with others, and following rules.
– It is known that ‘exercise boosts brain power’, and there is a lot of carryover from learning the skills of basic human movement and a better ability to focus and learn outside of the gym.
Teaching Movement Patterns and Skills
– The goal of CrossFit Kids is to build foundations for a healthy lifestyle, and as children leave the program they take with them the enjoyment of physical activity that continues into adulthood.
– The movements we teach begin with basic functional movements that help develop neuromuscular coordination that will serve them in all physical activity. By building a wide variety of movement patterns they are able to learn other skills more quickly. This is how the program will serve them in the long term.

I did my CrossFit Level 1 in 2010, and have Coached full-time ever since. I have been lucky enough to live and coach at numerous gyms across the world, and have coached in gyms in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Australia.
I have coached individuals from 4 years old to 74 years old, and every age in between. My favourite thing about CrossFit is it is for anybody.
